Recognising VE Day
We recognised VE Day (albeit yesterday,) by making flags, listening to music and having a street party together with 1H.
Exploring the forest for flowers
We had so much fun exploring the forest, looking for flowers and digging for bugs. It has been lovely to see all of the learning we have done recently come together as children have been counting, reciting their favourite stories and communicating with one another through play.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
What a fabulous first week back we have had! This half term we are focussing on books by Eric Carle and our first book is ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar.’ We have been working towards making an information book all about fruit this week, identifying different fruits, describing their colour and…
Fashion Show
Jack proudly represented 1A this afternoon in the Fashion Show. We all worked together to make an Easter egg top out of cardboard and pieces of scrap material. Jack chose to wear his headband that we made in class yesterday.
Choosing stories
Today’s choice the children had to make was which story we would be sharing at circle time. It was a tricky choice for some as it was a choice between two firm favourites - The Gingerbread Man and We’re going on a Bear Hunt.
Crispy cakes
This afternoon, we worked together to make some crispy cakes. We used key words such as mix, pour and scoop whilst making them. Most of the cakes didn't make it to the fridge to set as we were all too eager to eat them.
Chick, chick, chick, chick, chicken
This morning we have had lots of fun making chicken hats! We love the individuality and creativity of all of the children and the huge smiles on your faces is even better

Rewards Day Fun
We have had an absolute blast this morning for our rewards day treat.
Star of the week
Charlie is 1A’s star this week for positively engaging with our Eco activities, identifying the recycle symbol on various household products. Amazing work Charlie.
Caterpillars - long and short
We explored making long and short caterpillars this morning using playdough. The children were able to listen and use the key vocabulary long and short to describe the caterpillars.
Busy Things - Computing
This week, the children in 1A have been trialling a new computing programme which we absolutely love! It is a programme which promotes independence whilst teaching new skills and consolidating the things the children already know. Well done everyone.
